Theater of the Dragon

by Daniel Archer

Sadly, what appears to be a robbery gone terribly wrong turns out to be nothing like that. Unfortunately, even a clear-cut case of domestic homicide, as horrible as it seems, would be more acceptable than what Detective David Riley discovers behind a complex and sinister game involving a suspect more cunning and diabolical than the worst psychopath he’s ever come across. As evidence points him in an unlikely direction, he and his investigative team must pursue a trail of political intrigue and conspiracy that leads to the prospect of a country heading toward an explosive revolution.

Identifying and catching this shrewd killer is only the beginning of Riley’s problems. As he gathers evidence to convince his closest associates ofthe nefarious character of their prime suspect, he must also deal with theunexpected consequences of taking on a man he never wished to make his enemy. Given the knowledge he now possesses, he would rather have never taken the case that rather innocently had fallen into his lap. But since that’s happened, he and his team must not only figure out a way of taking this man into custody, but also to find a way to prosecute him forthe crimes he’s committed and stop the eventual revolution he is well on his way to having started.

THEY SAY THE DEVIL IS IN THE DETAILS, BUT

HE’S ALSO IN AMERICAN POLITICS

Surely, at one time or another, you’ve questioned whether a certain politician occupying a seat in office has made a deal with the devil to win an election. Or maybe you’ve wondered if they must be possessed by something evil and terrifying to do the things they do once they get into office. It can’t just be stupidity, greed, arrogance, or any combination of a number of the seven deadly sins that motivates them. Or can it?

Homicide Sergeant David Riley has a case dumped into his lap when the two young sons of a United States senator are murdered in a horrific way. Sadly, what appears to be a robbery gone wrong turns out to be nothing of the sort. Unfortunately, even a clear-cut case of domestic homicide, as ghastly as it seems, would be more acceptable than what Riley discovers behind a complex and sinister game involving a suspect more cunning and diabolical than the worst psychopath he’s ever come across. As evidence points him in an unlikely direction, he and his investigative team must pursue a trail of political intrigue and conspiracy that leads to the prospect of a country heading toward an explosive revolution.

New author, Daniel Archer, writes a fast-paced narrative with no holds barred. This political-legal thriller has a supernatural bent to it with just enough flair to give readers a reason not to believe the events depicted within its pages could actually happen. Otherwise, this story would inspire panic and doomsaying in even the most level-headed realist. It is complex fiction that goes against the grain of formulaic storytelling. Its appeal reaches across many genres, hooking readers from a variety of tastes. The trial alone is a fascinating amalgamation of forensics evidence, due process, and courtroom theatrics that will have people gasping in surprise and snickering at the unintentional wit of the adversarial legal teams. Theater of the Dragon promises to suck readers in from the onset and not let go until the very end, where the question remains: can the devil be convicted of the crimes he’s committed on American soil?

This story is more than just The Devil and Daniel Webster retold. It is the opening volume of an intricate epic that is six stories running, with a parallel series six stories strong as well, culminating in a convergence of the two series. The majority of this mind-boggling epic has already been written to the same tune as can be found in Brian Lumley’s complex mythology of the Necroscope series. Make no mistake, the Theater of the Dragon endeavor is not a flight of fantasy, but a well-researched shake-up of politics, faith, and diversity.
